LG H&H Earns Its First CES Innovation Award with Integrated AI Skin Analysis & Biomimetic Patch Solution
AI and Big Data–Driven Beauty Tech Research to Deliver “Distinctive Customer Value”
LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) has won a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category with its newly developed “Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch.” This marks the very first time LG H&H has received an Innovation Award at the world’s largest consumer electronics exhibition, CES.
The Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch is a wearable beauty device that combines LG H&H’s proprietary skin-diagnosis technology, customized active-ingredient formulation system, and precision light-energy control technology. The device integrates an AI-powered skin analysis program, a biomimetic negative-pressure patch, a flexible LED patch, and a headband-type controller.
To operate the device, AI first analyzes the user’s eye-area aging patterns—such as wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and dark circles—using LG H&H’s extensive big-data pool of 60,000 skin profiles. Based on this analysis, the AI recommends optimal active cosmetic ingredients.
These ingredients are delivered directly into the skin using a negative-pressure patch inspired by the suction mechanism of octopus suckers. A flexible LED patch, less than 1 mm thick, is layered on top to deliver optimized wavelengths of light deep into the skin during treatment.
Designed as a hands-free band, the device allows users full mobility during use. Premium materials such as aluminum and fabric add both comfort and sophistication to the experience. Notably, the negative-pressure patch technology—secured through a strategic partnership with the startup Mimetics—has been recognized through publications in world-renowned scientific journals including Nature and ACS Nano.
This patch technology first entered the market in April under LG H&H’s luxury brand The History of Whoo as the “Skin Activator Patch.” LG H&H has completed related patent filings for the device’s technology, design, and trademarks.
Following its acquisition of the LG Pra.L brand, LG H&H has continued to explore new avenues to strengthen its future beauty-tech capabilities.
LG H&H CTO Nae-Kyu Kang stated,
“The CES 2026 award for the Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch marks the beginning of our next chapter. We will accelerate research on personalized precision solutions and convergence between new wearable devices. Through advanced Beauty Tech R&D, LG H&H will continue to offer differentiated customer experiences and lead the future of skin longevity.”
